This is my father’s Kodak Brownie which he has had since the mid 1960s. We have photos taken with it and there is still film inside it! One day I will summon up enough courage to get it developed.

Gentle Annie
The Gentle Annie Track in the Wombat State Forest, Victoria. It hadn’t rained for a while but this section of track is low-lying and collects water, in fact it was a little stagnant and smelly! The water gets pushed forward by the wheels then finds its way back to where Continue Reading
Paddle Boat
Is there something Turner-esque about the treatment of this photo? Taken on the Murray River from the Victorian side, it was disappointing to have such a dull day with bad lighting making everything look boring and featureless. It was too long a drive to waste the photo so I hit Continue Reading
Rubber Duckie
Taken at the Murray River near Swan Hill in June 2011, this picture is highly manipulated as you can see, or maybe not? It was a very dull day, no sky features and the river was a murky grey with no life. The only colours were grey and dark brown. The Continue Reading
Big Wheel
The big wheel at night in the city of Melbourne, taken with a Nikon D7000 and fiddled with digitally, below is the same shot with even more fiddling with Photoshop. The original photo was taken with a Nikon D700 on 9 July, 2011. What goes up, must come down, spinnin’ wheel, Continue Reading
Haunted House
A creepy place, looks very much haunted, especially if you look really closely. Those flowers look out of place in this setting! Taken with a Nikon D7000 and heavily manipulated digitally to achieve the spooky effect.
Treasure Chest

Freedom Machine Rider
This short video was filmed through my Contour helmet-cam, the inset clips taken by my niece with her iPhone. (Apologies if you see an advert, that’s YouTube’s penalty for using a few seconds of a copyrighted song.) It is difficult to describe the feeling of the open road on two Continue Reading
